Scrip is a gift card that spends just like cash. It doesn’t cost you
anything extra.
How does the Scrip Program work?
Local and National merchants sell scrip certificates to Meadows PTA at a
discount. The PTA sells scrip to you at face value. You pay no more to use
scrip than you would cash. Meadows earns the difference between the face
value of the scrip and the discounted price (4-15%).
Where Do The Profits Go?
What you spend at Meadows stays at Meadows School. Last year the Scrip
program gave over $20,000 to the Meadows PTA. This money helps to fund
various projects at Meadows. Whether it is new computers, new playgrounds,
or instructional materials, every dollar counts!
What can I do to participate?
Buy Scrip! Consider your monthly spending habits and fill in the amount and
type of scrip you want. Turn into the school by the first of the month.
Attach a check (payable to Meadows PTA) to your scrip form and return it to
school. PTA also accepts VISA and MasterCard on scrip purchases over $250.
Scrip orders will be delivered by the 15th of the month. Orders will be
delivered to your designated classroom to your child’s attention, or we can
have it delivered (for orders over $350). Extra scrip order forms are in the
office cubbies, or you can download forms at home (see left column for form
choices).

What’s a Monthly Standing Order (MSO)?
The best way to “remember” to use Scrip is a MSO. You decide what you use on
a regular basis (perhaps a coffee card or two, some restaurants that you
know you go to at least once a month, movie tickets, what will cover
groceries for the month) and submit a New Monthly Standing Order ($50
minimum). Then, on the 15th of every month school is in session, you will
receive that amount of scrip via the delivery option you choose. (child’s
home room or delivery) It’s automatic and easy! You can use the MSO form
when needed to revise your MSO as your needs change. We have two forms, one
for local scrip participants and one for national scrip participants.

“current participating retailers”. We also have a number of travel options
so think of us when planning vacations as well. If you see something you

Which form do I use?
The Neighborhood Form lists out all of our favorite retail stores that
are in the Manhattan Beach area. These are close to our school and our
neighborhood. The National Form is for other retail companies that lie just
outside of Manhattan beach, but were used frequently by parents in the past.

Credit cards cost the school up to 2% of your total purchase. Please
consider writing a check whenever possible. Just attach your check to the
order form and leave it in the Scrip box in the office.

Earn rebates for Meadows every time you swipe your grocery cards! Just
register your grocery card numbers. Additionally, register your credit and
